Say it isn’t so…Aerosmith guitar player Brad Whitford has revealed that the band has considered touring without singer Steven Tyler.
Tyler has been busy working away in Nashville on his upcoming solo album since last year.
This means that Aerosmith has been forced to take a hiatus of sorts. With that in mind, Whitford was posed the question: With AC/DC going on tour with Axl Rose, does this open the door to Aerosmith reconsidering a short tour without Steven?
Whitford, told Metal Rules.com: “Absolutely, we have considered it – but whether it will happen I don’t know. I think it would be great.” Tyler’s side-project has been a bone of contention amongst his Aerosmith band mates, as it resulted in them cancelling most of their 2016 tour plans, according to the guitarist.
Whitford will release his own album away from Aerosmith band mates next month. Reunion is his collaboration with former Ted Nugent Band singer Derek St. Holmes. Whitford admits their studio sessions felt “like a vacation” from Aerosmith as the two of them worked so well together.
