Could Noel Gallagher join Damon Albarn on the next Gorillaz album? Gallagher says he will if asked. “[Albarn]’s making a new Gorillaz album and he’s got my number, so he only has to ask.” The former rivals have formed a friendship over the years.

Last December, the two friends teamed up along with Chrissie Hynde and Paul Simonon to perform some Gorillaz and The Clash tracks at The Clash bassist Paul Simonon’s 60th birthday bash.

Of course busy schedules could get in the way. The Daily Star reports Gallagher said, “You can bet your life the minute I finish this tour he’ll go out on his,” he said. “I mean trying to get the two of us in the same room would be a f***ing miracle. But I’m certainly open to the idea, for sure.”

Gallagher is currently on tour with his band High Flying Birds, finishing up this weekend at Birmingham, Genting Arena (April 29) and Bournemouth, BIC (April 30) before heading onto festival season this summer.

Damon Albarn and Gorillaz illustrator Jamie Hewlett are working on a new album, their first since 2011’s The Fall. Not many details have come out since the announcement last October, but Hewlett has been posting video clips and pictures on his Instagram page teasing us with too little details. Hewlett told NME last year: “We’re doing Gorillaz next year,” he said. “Damon has started making some music around all his other projects. I’m working on it at the moment and 2016 is going to be Gorillaz all year.”

And in case you missed Damon’s musical Wonder.land, which wraps up this weekend (30 April) at The National Theater, the soundtrack for the theatrical modern-day adaptation of Alice In Wonderland wase released yesterday on CD and vinyl courtesy of Parlophone Records. Damon Albarn, Moira Buffini and Rufus Norris created Wonder.land with music by Damon Albarn, and book and lyrics by Moira Buffini.
