During the last forty years, Bruce Springsteen has told some truly amazing stories of love, loss, hope, and fate through song.
On September 27th, fans of the “The Boss” will finally get insight into Springsteen’s life as the superstar shares his life story with the release of his memoirs.
According to the book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, Springsteen started the book, which is named after his huge hit “Born to Run” in 2009. He has been writing it in his downtime and in private ever since.
Springsteen released a statement announcing the autobiography saying, “Writing about yourself is a funny business. But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.”
According to the singer’s website, the autobiography “describes growing up in Freehold, New Jersey amid the ‘poetry, danger, and darkness’ that fueled his imagination. He vividly recounts his relentless drive to become a musician, his early days as a bar band king in Asbury Park, and the rise of the E Street Band. With disarming candor, he also tells for the first time the story of the personal struggles that inspired his best work, and shows us why the song ‘Born to Run’ reveals more than we previously realized.”
The book will be available in hardcover, ebook and audiobook editions.
