Thom Yorke Shares Unreleased Bond Theme “Spectre”

With the release of the latest Bond movie earlier this year, rumors were rife on who would be composing the movie’s theme tune.

Bookmakers were offering odds as to who this would be, but bookies suspended Bond theme betting after someone tried to place a bet totaling £15,000 ($22,500) that indie rock superstars Radiohead would be the band to provide the song.

The movie was released and, as we now all know, Sam Smith was the eventual winner of the prized theme. However, it now transpires that the rumors weren’t completely unfounded.

On Christmas morning, Radiohead’s singer, Thom Yorke tweeted out a link to a new Radiohead track called “Spectre”, which was originally recorded as the theme for the film.

He tweeted: “Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre.

Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.

As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it.

Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”

We love Christmas extras like this one. Listen to the track below, right here at Rock My World.
