After an extended period away from the limelight, actor Val Kilmer has appeared in the bizarre new music video for Oneohtrix Point Never’s ‘Animals’. The song is taken from the artists stunning 2015 album ‘Garden of Delete’.
Kilmer has not appeared on screen since 2014’s ‘Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn’ in which he portrayed author Mark Twain. Although Kilmer has two movies (‘Weightless’ and ‘The Snowman’) due to be released in 2017, there have been numerous rumours surrounding the actors ill health.
These rumours reached a pinnacle last week, when fellow actor Michael Douglas revealed that Kilmer had been suffering from cancer. This led to further speculation that Kilmer may not have been properly dealing with the illness due to his Christian Scientist faith.
It has since been revealed by Kilmer himself, that he is actually completely healthy. He wrote on Facebook: “I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed,”
continuing: “Some fans have mistakenly thought my silence about my personal issues meant that somehow I wasn’t being responsible to my health, because of my reliance on prayer and Love.
“Nothing could be further from the truth… Being healthy and having the respect of my peers and love from my family, friends, peers and fans is a DAILY source of inspiration, for which I am so grateful.”
Kilmer explained that he had been in fact suffering from a swollen tongue and had no cancer whatsoever.
Oneohtrix Point Never is the alias of electronic musician Daniel Lopatin. Lopatin signed to UK label Warp Records back in 2013, and has since released some of the most beautiful compositions in recent years. Oneohtrix Point Never is known for fusing elements of 1980s synthesizer music with a number of different genres, and using a significant amount of sampling in his music. The artist is often attached to the current vapourwave and hypnagogic pop movements, however his music is something really quite unique.
