Nowhere To Hyde

In rock and roll, there are many tales of how amazing that gig was, and, if only I could have been there. Well, The Who in Hyde Park was one of those gigs! For those of us who missed it—and for those of you that were lucky enough to be there—you get a chance to relive the moment. On Thursday, October 8, 2015, Fathom Events and Arts Alliance will be showcasing the movie, The Who in Hyde Park, in cinemas nationwide.

The footage was recorded on June 26, 2015, and features The Who celebrating their 50th anniversary in front of a sold-out crowd of 65,000 in London’s famed Hyde Park. The movie slams through a set list spanning the band’s entire career, and features tracks from classic albums such as, Who’s Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, My Generation, and Live At Leeds.

Not content with just giving us the band’s killer live performance, the movie includes amazing interview footage of Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, plus, cameos from Robert Plant, Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr and more. Also featured, will be a trip down memory lane to the West London landmarks and familiar haunts of the band during the 1960s.

The movie will be shown at more than 360 movie theaters throughout the U.S. Tickets are available now and can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

The movie serves as a reminder of just how powerful the band still is. It’s the perfect set up for the band’s second leg of their “The Who Hits 50!” North American tour, which will now resume its tour September 24th, and not the 17th, while singer Roger Daltery recovers from a virus. It’s not easy being on the road at age 71! Rock my World wishes him a speedy recovery. The tour will conclude in mid-December.
